Crayons and Toy Soldiers

I feel as though we are being forced to go into some sort of hibernation mode.  Although I'm extremely sleep deprived at the moment, I'm suffering from cabin fever and stir craziness!!  I know there must be some sort of sick conspiracy going on right now.  Someone has transplanted TEXAS to some crazy, cold Arctic place!!!  This can't be Texas; my home!!  We have been snowed/ICED in for a full week!  School has been cancelled this whole week.  I am NOT getting out on the solid sheet of ice where our roads used to be, once upon a time, so that means here we are, stuck in the house, with two kiddos and Cartoon Network!  There's only so much a gal can take!!!
On a positive note, the nasty, ugly, gross sick bug that had barged in and took over my little family seems to be on it's way out.  It hit me lastly, of course, after I pretty much got my two kiddos in the clear... I start running fever.  So is life!  But we are all doing MUCH better and mucus is on the decline and temperatures are stable!
My husband has been well (thank you, God) and has been making the long, precarious trek to work every day.  He is even having to work overtime (ya for the money, not the hours).  So, the kiddos and I are entertaining ourselves with crayons, coloring books and little, plastic, toy Army Men Soldiers!!  The total positive here is my kiddos are hilarious and are keeping me quite entertained...that is, in between their all out fights... Oh, Sibling Rivalry...that's another blog post, my friends...

I can't believe the weather in Texas! I am from the Dallas area and my sister and mom are in Rowlett. She said 6-7" of snow today and my mom has a frozen pipe, it's crazy! I live in the Reno/Tahoe area and it's a normal January for us (right now.) We were in San Antonio earlier in the week and left just as it was getting very COLD! Well, you have a positive attitude about it all and that means everything! Enjoy it, the Texas sun will come out and melt it all up before you know it :)Have a great weekend Kandy!

THanks, Heidi! Yeah, CRAZY for Texas, even in WINTER! =) The sun has been out for the last couple of days... still cold, but the snow and ice is melting... I've heard that it is supposed to drop down really cold again, so that means everything will freeze again... AHHHH.. well, I don't mind staying home for days on end with the kiddos ! LOL I may be a little crazy when this is all over, but probably no more than usual ;)

Oh, how I hate ice. I will never forget our ice storm in 2007 here in Oklahoma. It truly was a disaster.

Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting on my blog today. I love new visitors/commenters. I do hope you'll be back!

I'm glad everyone is well now at your house.

So far it was only my little one that got the flu here. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the rest of us remain well.

Thanks, Dawn... I remember our ice storm in '07 too... That's when my daughter was born... right in the middle of it... guess it's just how she rolls ;)

Oooo...Thanks, Randa... I'll see what I can come up with and give you some options ;)
